I miss the kids! Summer camps, lessons, horses in training, getting the sorting up and running, and balance. I go to see you and tell you what fine young boys and lady you are turning into. Miss Rio had your first trimming and we will be getting you ready for the next one soon. I miss our daily walks and look forward to the start of new things with you all soon!!! Was sick today and watched a movie called "Hondo" young John Wayne and realized it was a fine name for a young yearling a fine name indeed! We will ride in the hills young Hondo and it will be new country for you and new country for you and Me. Eat and grow young yearlings!!!!
 He is only 13 months old but has captured the heart. He is the curious one. First to the gate, but last to be haltered. still skeptical and that may save his life one day. He runs like the wind. His eyes are deep. I guess if I were to sell him like most traders do. Those that say to me how many horses did you sell last year? To that I must say it takes to long to make a good one or in the traders case to destroy the good ones. This boy Gus is class. Breeding and poise, the mind of a thinker. He will be a fine young man! Gus I cannot wait to see what you become!!! I will ride you in fine new country one day and show you at a place where you will excel!
 Hondo's first day with human interaction. He is almost 1 year old. The softness in his eye, yet still alert enough to flee if need be. It is only instinct. He is calm and one day will make a fine Bridle Horse. Watch our progress. For it will not only be Hondo that makes changes it will more often than not be me. He won't lie to me, he won't sugar coat anything he has to say as to hide who he is or who I am. He will react badly if I do, he will yell if I do, He will be calm and move forward if I allow him to learn that way. He is a brave sort, calm laid back yet curious. His eyes say who he is.
